I am two weeks in to a new at home Barre program called, Barre Blend. It is a 60 day program available through Beachbody On-Demand. My first thoughts...this program is a lot more challenging than it looks!
Prior to starting the program, I was doing primarily weight training using the Alexia Clark app, which I love. But, when I saw this program being released by one of my favorite trainers, Elise Joan, I knew I wanted to try it. Barre is a nice balance to weight lifting, as it gives a more long and lean muscle look, which is what I prefer.
I started the program before it was originally released, so I had to do week one, twice. I enjoyed the workouts and feel like I got the fundamental moves down. Each workout is full-body, but each day has a focus.
Mondays - Classic Full Body Blend
Tuesdays - Booty Blend
Wednesdays - Cardio Blend
Thursdays - Core Blend
Fridays - Lean Legs Blend
Each week has the same schedule, but each week the moves intensify. I also love the fact that we are getting 60 unique workouts - no two are the same!
This is the perfect program for people that do not like high impact or cardio. Cardio and low impact High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) moves are incorporated in each workout, but they are low impact. There is an option for the jumping and high impact if you like that sort of thing, but you don't have to and you still get an amazing workout. The workouts leave me wanting to come back to the barre each day! Because of the low impact moves, it is a great workout to do first thing in the morning, if you are trying to develop a morning workout routine.
All the equipment that is needed is a chair and 2 lb weights. I feel like my arms are more sculpted in two weeks using 2 lb weights than they were using heavier weights!
The set is beautiful, which is important to me because I am very much affected by my environment and it is nice to look at. I love the outfits of the cast as well! And, Elise's positive energy and how she ties in each days' affirmation in each class is like a course in personal development, which I enjoy.
If you are looking for a new program to try to kick off 2020, join me with Barre Blend.
